The Sangan River
The Sangan River is located on Graham Island, the largest island in Haida Gwaii. The river lies within the traditional territory of the Haida people, who have lived on Haida Gwaii since time immemorial. Rivers like the Sangan are integral to Haida culture, providing food, supporting biodiversity, and shaping the landscape.
Corey Brown was born in Old Masset, a small village on the north coast of Haida Gwaii. He is a member of the Sta’staas Eagle Clan and is the nephew of the current serving hereditary Chief 7idansuu.
